There was to be a major attack by Maoists in Aurangabad on Republic Day which was foiled by the police. In this sequence, the police have recovered a large quantity of weapons and goods. The recovered weapons included 956 live cartridges of SLR, 807 live rounds, 251 live rounds of 9 mm, 1484 live rounds of INSAS, one rifle of 315 bore with magazine, 81 live rounds of 315 bore rifle, one UBGL, one black dangri, Two cane IED of one kg, 6 electric detonators, 15 meter codex wire, seven pull mechanism, 60 meter electric wire, Naxal literature, one ammunition pouch, one steel trunk, four camera flashes, one arrow bomb, five aluminum for arrow bomb Roller, three walkie talkies, one interceptor, eight mobile feature phones, welding material and electronics material.
Preparations were also made to attack the security forces
Superintendent of Police Swapna Gautam Meshram told a press conference on Wednesday that secret information was received that Naxalites have planned to celebrate Republic Day as Black Day. Under this, the Maoists were preparing to attack the security forces in Madanpur police station’s forested-hilly areas – Pachrukhia, Simriyadah, Ladui Pahar, Basdih Shikarikuan, Murgdih, Banarwa and surrounding areas. As soon as the information was received, on the joint instructions of Aurangabad SP, 205 Cobra Corps and CRPF’s 47th Corps Commander, Aurangabad’s Additional Superintendent of Police (Operations) Mukesh Kumar, Gaya’s Additional Superintendent of Police Mukesh Kumar Sewaria, and CRPF’s second commanding officer Lokesh Kumar. A joint team of CoBRA, CRPF and Police conducted a joint search operation for three days continuously in Bandi, Kariba, Dobha, Morwa, Bidainagar Makarwa, Basariya Bathan, Pacrukhia and surrounding areas of Madanpur police station. In this operation, a huge amount of terror material was recovered. The subversive items included in the recovered material were destroyed on the spot. For the time being, a major accident was averted by this prompt action of the police.
